Tech/Arts - Media

This one of the videos we made in media which is one of the tech/arts that we do at our school the movie above was based on some of the things Zac King does, if you are wondering who Zac King is he is a you tuber that does lots of creative stop motion sort of videos or sometime he just cuts out parts of videos so it looks like a t-shirt popped out of the wall but he just cuts out the part of the video were he is putting on the shirt or he does something similar like that.

This is the first movie that we made in media based on pictures and videos were you have to change your perspective and its all about how you look at things in life. Thanks to Miss Wilkinson for helping us with all these videos and I hope you enjoy watching them.

Student Led Conference - My Learning Journey

This is my SLC which is a thing that some schools do and it is where in the middle of the year you have to create a presentation of some why to show your parents and your teacher what you have learnt already this year and what you want to work on in the future. I did my presentation on prezi a presenting app, I found this quite fun to try different things because I had never used prezi before and also I have only done a SLC 2 times but this time its really different and a new and creative way to show my learning and I really like it but I am a little nervous to actually present it tomorrow night.

Reading - Invitation, Card or Certificate

This is the certificate I made for the story I read called Man and Sea. Its down below!

Creative Writing - Worth Waiting For

Untitled - Word cloud - WordItOut

This is this weeks writing task!

Up the top are the list of people I want to meet a down below are the answers to the questions in the weeks task.

What do all these people have in common? These people are all celebrities, half of them are sports players and all of them have a special talent. Most of them represent their country or are amazingly good at singing or playing a sport.

What do you think this list says about who you are? It shows that I am interested in sport and music and that I would like to find out more about these people than just what they say on TV or what they do on the news, have a real conversation with them, also I look up to them and appreciate them.

Camp!

Camp was so much fun I really enjoyed spending time with my class and getting out of my comfort zone. For our school camp we all go to Aongatete lodge but instead of just driving their we have to do a 7-9 hour walk over the Kaimai ranges to get there. The walk takes the whole first day and the next day we did orienteering in a small group and all the groups started with different bearings but all ended up back at base camp, then after lunch we do the up river challenge were you walk up little waterfalls and do lots of rock hopping. Also that night you do a camp out but the tents were to wet so my whole class slept in the rec centre, then the next day you do the down river challenge which is where you absail down a small water fall, scuttle your way around Mear's rock and do lots of little challenges along the way. Oh I almost forgot at night time you also get to do the night challenges which is a burma trail and the candle trail were the parents and teachers get to scare you but then the next day unfortunately we had to pack up and come home. The camp was so exciting I can't even explain it because it was so cool.

To Travel Is To Live!

Travelling is an amazing feeling! I've only been a few places but I have caught the travelling bug and now nearly everywhere is on my to do list. I just recently went to Hong Kong, Cambodia, Thailand and Singapore for 2 weeks and OMG I was flabbergasted by how nice and polite the people were and WOW there are some stunning view's.

In Hong Kong and Singapore there's lots of public transport and trains under the ground as well as everybody lives in apartments with no grass were as here in NZ we all live in houses with land and we all have cars because there are no underground trains and hardly any public transport unless you are right in town. The ladies markets in Hong Kong and the Gardens in Singapore were amazing and I highly recommend them.

In Siem Reap and Koh Lanta which is where we stayed in Cambodia and Thailand, there are amazing markets and the snorkeling in Koh Lanta was unbelievably beautiful. Enjoyed Cambodia the most out of everywhere we went because it is so different to here in NZ, you ride around in little tuk tuk's and it was just so unexpectedly different and exciting. Also well we were there we had the little fish bit our feet and that was such a different experience and no were near as ticklish as I thought if would be.
I Absolutely Love Travelling

These are some photos we took.

Summative Assessment Task - Sharing the Planet - U.O.I

This is my slideshow that I used to present my issue and action to my class. For this Unit of Inquiry our summative was were we had to choose a issue from NZ or around the world and do some sort of action that relates and can hopefully solve the problem that you are trying to help out. Also what the teachers were thinking could happen is you could really enjoy your action and change something or do something for the better and maybe your action could carry on for the rest of the year, mine is about my family visiting Cambodia and how in Cambodia lots of people survive with only dirty water and hardly any food.

I hope to do a lot more blogging now that I am back and into my normal routine. Hope you are still ENJOYING my BLOG!!!

Student Blogging Challenge - Week 5 & 6 - Task 3

Sunset, Abendstimmung, Lake, Water, Clouds, Attersee

Sun glistening along the water creating a path towards the abandoned little cove.
Shadows lucking in dark as clouds drift away in the breeze.
My dark silhouette dancing of into the night as the summer days slowly become colder and colder.
Soon to be winter.
